Value add! Excellent tips that are relevant and easy enough to apply in the private or public sector. Ideas are important and it matters to present this in savvy and contemporary ways. It is vital for viewers / consumers to feel that they can relate to the expert and that they can effectively appy the info sold to them. Kudos to Dorie for this invaluable insight on monetizing our “thought leadership” knowledge and skills in a strategic way. Tweets: @SusanConsults or @SusanPConsults

    From Dorie Clark:

Great question, and as a former journalist, I do think there’s been an accelerating trend toward reporters needing to develop strong personal brands – both as a form of career insurance for themselves in a disrupted industry, and also to ensure their stories get fully heard. Here’s an article I wrote about this in 2010: http://commonwealthmagazine.org/politics/why-journalists-need-personal-branding/

I’m reposting a question from the Facebook post about this Faculty Conversation:

Sean Rehder Do we seen any comparison of this topic to the new digital age of investigative journalism? Will reporters/journalists need to create digital identities to ensure their stories get put “above the fold” when it comes to mobile viewers of information?
