What is Fuqua Faculty Conversations?

A new program in 2012, Fuqua Faculty Conversations is a bi-monthly online series designed to put you back in the classroom with Fuqua’s top professors.  Each session will consist of two parts: Your “pre-reading,” a recorded video on the presenter’s topic; and the “class discussion,” an interactive live session with the faculty member.

How can I participate and ask questions during the live session?

All pre-registered guests will receive an email with detailed instructions for participation.  Questions can be submitted in advance via e-mail to conversations@fuqua.duke.edu or during the session through Twitter using the #fuquaalumni hash tag.

Is pre-registration required?

No, but it is recommended. Register here.

Will the live sessions be recorded and available for playback?

Yes, each session will be archived on the event page along with the pre- recorded video.

When will the live sessions take place?

Videos will be released every other month – February, April, June, August, October and December.  The complementary live session will take place about a week after the “pre-reading” video is posted.

Do I need to download any special software to participate?

To watch the live video you will need to be able to access YouTube’s Live Streaming on your computer.

Who can I ask for technical support?

If you experience technical difficulties, you may contact the Fuqua Technical Support Center at 919.660.7878 or help@fuqua.duke.edu.

Who are the faculty participating, and how did they get selected?

The following faculty members will be featured in the 2015 series – Alexandre Belloni, Cathy Clark, Jonathon Cummings, Scott Dyreng, Simon Gervais, and Christine Moorman.  See the 2015 speakers list for faculty bios.  The faculty were selected and asked to participate by Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Jim Anton and Senior Associate Dean for Programs Jennifer Francis.
