Will my selection to participate in The Duke MBA Pride Weekend be an indication of how competitive I will be in the admissions process?

Can I receive a travel stipend for The Duke MBA Pride Weekend?

Travel stipends will not be awarded.  You will be responsible for paying for any required flights or transportation to The Fuqua School of Business in Durham, NC.  Once you arrive on campus all event-sanctioned meals, ground transportation, and room fees and taxes for hotel accommodations reserved through Fuqua will be covered. Charter buses will safely transport you to any off-campus events or activities.

Will I get my own hotel room for The Duke MBA Pride Weekend?

If you request hotel accommodations, Fuqua will pair you with a roommate and cover all room fees and associated taxes; incidentals, such as room service, bar charges, and room damages, will be your responsibility. Attendees with chronic or severe medical conditions can request single-room accommodations. These accommodations are limited by room availability and determined on a case-by-case basis.

Can I have my admissions interview conducted during The Duke MBA Pride Weekend?

Admissions interviews will not be conducted during The Duke MBA Pride Weekend. The Admissions Team has carefully curated each session to meet you where you are in the application process. Please use this time to fully immerse yourself in the Team Fuqua experience, engage in programming, reflect on your time at Fuqua, and use your experience during The Duke MBA Pride Weekend in your interview and essays. After you apply and attend the weekend, you will be guaranteed an interview in the round for which you apply. You may return to campus for your interview or have a virtual interview conducted. Both interview formats are weighted equally. The Admissions Committee does not give preference to any particular interview format.

If I have already submitted my admissions application, is there a benefit of me attending?

Yes. While some of the information presented during The Duke MBA Pride Weekend will pertain to the admissions process, the programming will also cover many areas of the business school experience. You will have an opportunity to attend a mock class visit, network with current students and staff, and gain valuable information about post-MBA careers and financing your degree.

Will I have an opportunity to interact with the entire Duke community during this event?

Yes. Our agenda for the weekend will include activities that will give you exposure to the greater Fuqua community.

What if I am applying for business school next year, can I still attend this year?

Yes. Students who are applying for business school next year are still eligible to apply for The Duke MBA Pride Weekend.

What other resources are available to me at Fuqua?

Ford Library has been building a collection of online and print resources that focus on the intersection of the LGBTQ+ community and business.  Scholarly and popular business press publishing in this area is not widespread; but it continues to grow. The Ford Library is keeping our eyes and ears open to build this collection for the benefit of Fuqua.
